Senna leaves

Senna Herbs

Senna is a plant that has a laxative effect; the effect is SubhanALLAH very significant and, by the will of ALLAH, it can completely cleanse the intestinal tract and stomach. It is therefore excellently suited for people who have consumed Sihr through eating or drinking; it is also called Senna Mekki. Senna was also mentioned and recommended by our beloved Prophet (peace be upon him).

Ibn Maajah and Ahmad have narrated a hadeeth that has been declared hassan and is found in Saheeh Al-Jaami’ no. 4067.

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said:

“Use Senna and Sanoet (honey), for in them lies a cure for everything except Al-Saam.”

It was asked, “O Messenger of ALLAH (peace be upon him), what is Al-Saam?” And he said, “Death.” And it is narrated from Ibn ‘Abbas (may ALLAH be pleased with him) that the Messenger of ALLAH (peace be upon him) said: “The best medicines you use are: Al-Ladood, Al-Sa’oot, Al-Hijaamah, and Al-Mashoo.” (Tirmidhi and declared Hassan)

Al-Ladood are medicines that are administered through the side of the mouth.

Al-Sa’oot are medicines administered as nasal drops, Al-Hijaamah is well-known, and Al-Mashoo are laxatives.
