Candle holder green gold rim

Candle holder made of Capiz shells in green with gold-colored edges. Dimensions 13.5 cm. About Capiz shells: These are made from the outer layer of a marine mollusk, scientifically known as placuna placenta, also called the windowpane oyster. Capiz shells from the Philippines are named as such because they were originally harvested from the shallow coastal waters near the city of Capiz, on the island of Panay. Once cleaned, these shells are naturally translucent, and when painted, they create a beautifully unique play of colors with a light inside.
