The Obligation of Repenting to Allah

O Muslims, judge yourselves, repent to your Lord, ask Him for forgiveness, hasten to His obedience and beware of disobedience to Him. Help one another in righteousness and piety, do good, for indeed, Allah loves the doers of good. And be just, for indeed, Allah loves the just. Prepare yourselves with a pious preparation before death comes, be merciful to your weak and help your poor. Seek His forgiveness frequently. Enjoin one another to do good and forbid one another from evil, so that He may have mercy upon you. And take a lesson from the calamities that have befallen others due to sins and evil deeds. Allah accepts the repentance of those who repent, He is merciful to the doers of good and He grants a good ending to the God-fearing...''
