The Qualities of the Pious Wife

The subject of this book, “The Attributes of the Pious Wife,” is not only for the young woman who is looking forward to marriage and wants to know the attributes of a good wife in order to adorn herself with them, and is willing to implement and perfect them. It is also not only directed at the married woman who has already chosen these righteous attributes and wants to improve and continue to practice them. It is also not only for the married woman who does not fulfill these attributes and falls short in them, in order to mend herself and set her married life straight. Rather, it is an address and a reminder that is much more general than all of this. It is a reminder for the father who wants his daughters, as well as all other women under his guardianship, to have a good upbringing, an honorable life, and access to married life according to what Allah and His Messenger intended. Hopefully, this book will help him to remind these young women of the legal guidelines and necessary characteristics upon which the young Muslim woman must be raised and nurtured. This book is also a reminder for the mother who is the shepherd of her home, the one responsible for her daughters as their teacher, for most women grow up practicing what they saw and heard their mothers do. It is also a reminder for those who call to Allah to take care of this matter, to attach importance to it, and to strive very hard to spread these virtuous attributes, praiseworthy characteristics, and blessed qualities.
