The tree of Al-Imaan

Foundations, boosters, and benefits

Allah has compared the Kalimah of Iman, which is the best Kalimah, to a tree that is the best tree. This tree is described with noble qualities: its roots are firmly planted in the ground, it grows and matures continuously, and it yields its fruits at every moment (of the day). It constantly makes numerous benefits and blissful fruits available to its owner and to others.

"Have you not seen how Allah presents a parable of a good word, which is like a good tree, whose roots are firmly fixed in the ground, and its branches reach toward the sky? It yields its fruits in every season, by the permission of its Lord. And Allah presents parables for mankind, so that they may take heed."

This tree, which resides in the hearts of the believers, is highly variable and changes according to any shifts in the qualities with which Allah describes it. Thus, the servant should strive for knowledge regarding this; knowledge of its qualities, the reason for its strength and existence, its roots, and its branches. And he should exert himself to realize it in terms of knowledge and action.

Indeed, his portion of goodness, success, and joy in both this life and the Hereafter depends on the extent to which this tree is planted in his heart.
