Over Earthenware & Tagines
Here you will find tagines and Moroccan pottery: earthenware cooking tagines, tagines for all heat sources including induction, a tagine dish for serving at the table, and value sets. You will also find a tagine base, the kasria for couscous, and bowls and dishes.
Which tagine is right for you?
- Cooking or serving: a cooking tagine, such as the Slaoui tagine or the family tagine, is placed on the stove. A serving tagine, such as the Moroccan tagine dish Ø 28 cm, is placed on the table for serving.
- Earthenware or aluminum: traditional tagines are made of earthenware, glazed or unglazed, such as the Tajine Natural with handle (33 cm). The aluminum Tajine Marrakesh and the earthenware tagine with cast aluminum are suitable for induction.
- Size: a small tagine of Ø 26 cm is handy for a small group; Ø 30 to 35 cm is for the whole family. The 35 cm value pack is for 6 people, the Tajine Marrakesh for 4 to 8 people.
- Sets: the tagine sets for induction include 190 grams of spices, a cookbook, and an induction adapter. There are also 35 cm earthenware tagines with spices and a flame diffuser.
- Handmade: including the Slaoui tagine of Ø 34 cm, the family tagines, and the Oued Laou tagines are handmade.
Use and maintenance
Heat an earthenware tagine slowly over low to medium heat and use a flame diffuser on gas or an electric stove. Avoid large temperature differences: do not place a hot tagine on a cold countertop and do not pour cold water into it. The Oued Laou tagine from Tetouan can also be used in the oven or on the barbecue. If you are only looking for tagines for cooking, take a look at cooking tagines. You can find spices for your tagine at herbs and spices.
Frequently asked questions
Can an earthenware tagine be used on induction?
Not directly, because induction only works with a magnetic base. It is possible with an induction adapter. You can also choose a tagine that is suitable for all heat sources, including induction.
What is the difference between a cooking tagine and a tagine serving dish?
You prepare the dish in a cooking tagine. A tagine serving dish, such as the one with a diameter of 28 cm, is intended for serving the dish at the table.
What size is a small tagine?
A small tagine here has a diameter of 26 cm, such as the Slaoui tagine Ø 26 cm and the Tagine Ø 26 cm.
